At Victoria Court Dental Centre, our dedicated Dental Hygiene Department is committed to maintaining the health of our patients’ teeth and gums. Our aim is to prevent the onset of periodontal (gum) disease for the entire life of our patients. By implementing preventive programs tailored to patients’ individual needs, early tooth loss can be prevented allowing people to keep their teeth lifelong, thus enabling nutritional and dietary benefits from a healthier food selection.

The Victoria Court Dental Hygiene Department consists of two full time staff with additional dental support staff. Our Dental Hygienists Adam Barrett and Davinder Benepal will carefully asses:

• Plaque indexes (retained food on teeth).
• Disclosing plaque.
• Periodontal pocketing around teeth.
• Dietary advise and assessment.
• Saliva ph levels associated with tooth destruction.
• Need for supplements such as fluoride toothpaste.
• Preventive aids, toothbrush and floss selection.
• Causes of, and cures for, bad breath.
  

With your Dental Surgeon support, our Dental Hygienists will also appraise:

• Need for tooth whitening.
• Mouthguard application to protect existing dental work.
• Custom mouthguard selection.

Our Dental Centre provides community support through:

• Free Information Evenings held at Victoria Court Dental Centre.
• Lecturing to local schools and sporting groups on all aspects of preventative care and maintenance.
• Lecturing to trained Hygienists.
• Employing trainee Hygienists.
